How I Use AI in My Writing and Video Work

 

I have written two books, both now in second editions, and I am working on a third. I also write blogs and newsletters.

I want to be clear about how I use AI. AI-assisted means I use it to improve my work. AI-produced means the AI writes most or all of it. I use only AI-assisted methods.

Because I am mildly dyslexic and do not have the budget for professional editors, I rely on AI tools to clean up my writing. Grammar checkers catch typos, and large language models like ChatGPT help me simplify my academic style so it is easier to read. I also use them for outlining and brainstorming.

For video projects, I run transcripts of my spoken words through AI to make them flow better as written articles and blog posts. This is not AI creating content. It is editing and refining what I already made.

In short, AI is my assistant, not my replacement.
